Bountiful Beauty ~ Bursting with Blossoms, Texture & more…
Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder
What one gardener thinks is beautiful, another might consider the bane of their existence. Consider the violet. It’s hardy, prolific and simple. It can be an excellent ground cover that self-seeds year after year. But given free rein, it can, as some say, take over the garden.
As a beginner gardener, you may be dazzled by luscious blooms and imagine a garden prolific with colour all season long. However, if you fancy perennials, you will quickly discover that it is easier said than done. Hopefully, you will learn patience by waiting for each bloom. And in doing so, will appreciate each one.
As you grow as a gardener, you will experiment with plant and colour combinations. As you mature as a gardener, you learn to appreciate the plants that give you texture instead of blossoms. And as time marches on the personality of your distinct garden will develop and evolve. In exchange for dirty hands and sore knees, your garden will repay you a hundred-fold with patience, joy & beauty.
The true gift of gardening is the joy you give yourself.
